Guest Minister: Rev. Kenneth L. Bailey

Kenneth Leon Bailey is first and foremost a set aside, sanctified, sold out servant of God. He hails from Claremont, a little hamlet in Surry County, Virginia. Kenneth is the eldest child of Kenneth Lee and Flossie Louise Bailey. He was raised the son of a farming family and understands intimately Deuteronomy 8:10 “When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land He has given you”.
Kenneth attended Bruton High School in York County and matriculated at Surry High. He is a 1999 graduate of the Evans Smith Institute which is co-sponsored by the Samuel Dewitt Proctor school of theology at the Virginia Union in Richmond Virginia. He has received certification in Religious Studies and in Proclamation Preparation.
Kenneth was ordained a Deacon at Historic First Baptist Church of Williamsburg Virginia in January of 1998 and was licensed to preach in October 2006. Kenneth has served his church in various capacities to include but not limited to: The Trustee Ministry, Outreach Ministry, Missionary Ministry, Chair of the Young Adult Ministry, Men’s Fellowship Ministry and The Assistant Superintended for Sunday School. Kenneth is currently an Associate Minister at the Historic First Baptist Church.
In obedience to Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”, Kenneth is active outside of the walls of the church. He has participated in the Prison Ministries of the Southeastern Correction Ministry, The Good News Ministry and the Prison Ministry of the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. In this capacity he preached the Word of the Lord and gave hope to the captive. A community activist, Kenneth leads the mighty men of First Baptist Church in mentoring young boys in the Williamsburg James City County school system. These youngsters are handpicked to be a part of this group where Kenneth promotes Positive Youth Development.
Minister Bailey is a dedicated and devoted family man: His goal is to leave a lasting and loving legacy for his family. Kenneth is also a Lifelong Learner, has earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Religious Studies. Minister Bailey is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Degree as a senior in Religious Studies at The Hampton University as full-time student. He has been elected, selected, appointed and anointed to preach the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.
